Case 1. Hypovitaminosis A?
tpvets_logo.jpg (2726 bytes)5831 - 5837. Hypo-vitaminosis A.
Metaplasia of the eyes?
One of the eyes open after more than 3 weeks of hospitalisation and treatment. Not all swollen eye cases can recover if they are treated late. When the terrapin is young, feed a variety of food in a separate area or give an area for it to be out of the water. Change water daily and use a water filter. Commercial pellets are usually fed by Singapore terrapin owners, with calcium shells put inside the tank. Sunlight is important to warm up the terrapin and boost its immune system.

Case 2. Corneal abrasion in the terrapin's left eye
tpvets_logo.jpg (2726 bytes) 5651 - 5654. Ulcerative keratitis in the left eye. Day 1. Fluorescein dye stains the injured cornea green.

tpvets_logo.jpg (2726 bytes) 5655 - 5662. Ulcerative keratitis in the left eye. Day 3, two days after an IM injection. As the husband was worried about the effects of fluorescein eye stain, I did not use the test on review 2 days after the first consultation. No further complaints from the owner as at Feb 6, 2013.
