- 2307. Generalised ringworm in a Syrian Hamster. Keeps scratching
himself all day long. Ultra-violet
light can help diagnosis the ringworm
presence to clients. After 4 days of
treatment
at Toa Payoh Vets including
anti-ringworm bathing and clipping
bald, there was less itching. The
hamster went home. What the client
wanted was to resolve her problem of an
itchy hamster for once and for all.
Vet 1 told the owner that there was no
ringworm in the skin scraping although
the owner suspected ringworm.
Sometimes it is not possible for a vet
including myself to get a
correct diagnosis at the first visit,
due to various reasons. But some
clients are unforgiving and will not
give the veterinarian a 2nd chance.
